55 years of Nettuno, between history and the future

Nettuno turns 55 and is celebrating its milestone with one eye on the past and one on the future, two equally important worlds. It was way back in 1970 when the company took its first steps, with a simple but revolutionary product: handwash paste. Since then, the company has grown, the range has expanded, the market has evolved and our growth has allowed us to become a sector leader, in Italy and abroad.

Every day, we support thousands of professionals in their daily tasks, with solutions designed to protect, clean and take care of working hands. And it is to them we want to say a sincere thank you today, as well as to all the employees, business partners and suppliers who are part of our supply chain.

This 55th anniversary is an opportunity to recall what has been done and, above all, share what will come. Because every anniversary only makes sense if it’s a starting point.

 

The origins: from craft workshop to specialised industry

Neptune’s roots lie in consolidated craftsmanship. The company was established to respond to a real and widespread need, to guarantee effective hand cleansing for those working in demanding environments. Handwash is just the beginning and the real strength of the brand lies in the philosophy that guides its choice:  “do things well“, build solid relationships with customers, respond to problems with customised and reliable solutions.

The transition from small local reality to industry leader in the world of professional detergent happens gradually, but always with a pioneering spirit. Listening to the market, attention to detail and the desire to propose a product that really works are the hallmarks of our brand.

 

Values that stand the test of time

In a rapidly changing industry, there are values that never lose relevance. For us, quality has always been a promise that must be kept, the core of every development and the basis on which to build reputation and loyalty.

At the same time, innovation is not an isolated event but a daily approach. Because innovation means researching new formulas, improving production processes, reviewing what we do and how we do it, with the desire to get involved and an honest desire for improvement. This way of thinking has allowed us to successfully face many changes, but also crises and important market transformations.

The human factor is another cornerstone which we hold dear. Over time, we have built an enterprise culture that focuses on people, also thanks to leadership capable of transmitting a clear vision and motivate each employee to achieve shared goals.

In this context, exploiting the potential of each individual, promoting training and creating an inclusive environment are consolidated practices. Proof of this lies in the recent Gender Equality Certification, which recognises the commitment to building fair, respectful and collective well-being in the workplace.

Lastly, sustainability, a concept we have been working on for years, not just as a slogan to be repeated to join the chorus of green transformation, but as a firm outlook. This year, we have drawn up the first Sustainability Report, transparently reporting our environmental, social and organisational impact. An important step to formalise what we have been doing for a long time and set even more ambitious goals.

News: medical surgical aids, digitisation and new horizons

2024 was a decisive year, when we introduced the new PMC range (medical surgical aid) products, dedicated to professional disinfection of hands, surfaces and swimming pool water. A strategic choice that enriches the offer and meets the needs of an increasingly attentive market to certified hygiene.

In addition to medical surgical aids, we have launched a plan to upgrade the surface cleaning range, which is increasingly in demand in industry, health and the community. A natural transition for those who have always worked on protection and cleaning, but now do it with 360 degree vision.

In addition to strengthening our presence in already active markets, we also look beyond national borders. Expansion projects towards emerging markets representing a new evolutionary phase, to be pursued in a decisively complex geopolitical context. Bringing Italian quality to the world means confronting new needs and thoroughly understanding local dynamics, adapting both proposals and technical skills.

At the same time, we are investing in digitalisation and customer experience, finding new tools, new services and new ways to interact with customers. The aim is to be present and recognisable at every point of contact, not only offering products but also support, content, training and relationship opportunities.

55 years of success: happy birthday to us, thanks to you

Celebrating 55 years is much more than blowing out another candle. It means celebrating history made of ideas, people and intuitions. But it also means reaffirming a commitment to those who choose Nettuno products every day to work better, safer and with more awareness.

Today as yesterday, we firmly believe in the culture of health and we do so through increasingly efficient formulas and products that respect skin, surfaces and the environment.

However, this important milestone could not be celebrated without candles! Sunday 13th July Nettuno organised a special event “Sotto il segno del tridente”, exclusively dedicated to all employees, their families and some regional representatives. An evening under the stars, a calm, carefree experience, with laughter, games and good food.
